
School kids visit Appu’s residence on Annavaru’s birth anniversary

Bengaluru: I t was a different day out for around 60 students of Shobha High School on Saturday. They got an opportunity to visit their favourite star Puneeth Rajkumar alias Appu’s residence at Sadashiva Nagar to receive notebooks from Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar.
A small event was organized at Puneeth Rajkumar’s residence to celebrate Dr Rajkumar’s 94th birth anniversary. Bharathinagar Residents Forum has organized the event to distribute notebooks and cake to the students.
Students and teachers were happy to see Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar who paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr Rajkumar on the occasion. It is the first time that a social event being held after Puneeth Rajkumar died of cardiac arrest on October 29, 2021.
“I am very happy to visit Puneeth Rajkumar’s residence. I never expected that I would have this opportunity,’’ said Mahalakshmi S, a 6th standard student from Shobha High School. Kishore C, a 2nd standard student, was on cloud nine for having the opportunity to visit Puneeth Rajkumar’s residence. “I am a fan of Appu. I have seen the Kannada movie Yuvarathna on a TV channel recently,” said Kishore. Sadhana S, a 2nd standard student, said that she did not watch Appu’s movies till date but will try to watch in future.
Dishanth R, a 6th standard student, said that it was a very good opportunity to visit his favourite star’s residence. “I am very happy to see Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and receive notebooks and cake from her,’’ said Dishanth.
Even teachers accompanied students were elated to see Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar.
Meanwhile, Bharathinagar Residents’ Forum president NS Ravi has said that he could bring only 60 students to Puneeth Rajkumar’s residence and the total strength of students at Shobha High School is 200 and notebooks were distributed to the remaining students at the school.
