Woman held for theft in Rajajinagar

Bengaluru: Rajajinagar police have arrested a woman for stealing valuables worth Rs 3 lakh under the pretext of renting a house. Police have identified the accused as Gracy. 

In a latest incident, the accused visited a house near Prakash Nagar seeking a house on rent for her aunt. “After discussing the rent, the house owner asked her to help find a good house-keeper. The woman, however, offered to work for them,” police said.

On Friday, the accused visited the house owner and requested to see the house before taking up the job. But she managed to distract the family and steal valuables including gold ornaments from the house.

Following the complaint filed by the family, police procured the CCTV footage of her escaping from the house after stealing the valuables and nabbed her. The police are interrogating the accused to recover the valuables.
