PSI scam: Cong not involved, says DK Shivkumar

Chikkamagaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) DK Shivakumar on Sunday said the party has nothing to do with the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) recruitment scam.
Shivakumar was responding to the arrest of Congress leader Mahantesh Patil in the PSI case from Kalaburagi. It is alleged that large scale irregularities took place in the exams that were conducted to recruit sub inspectors, including cheating through Bluetooth devices and paying of bribes to officials.
“Congress has no connection with the PSI scam. It is the BJP that is ruling the state. It is the BJP government, their leaders and the officers under them who should answer for it. Congress has raised this scam in the Assembly and exposed them. Under the law, those who have done wrong should be identified with an investigation” he said. The party state unit chief also took aim at State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra for his flip flop on the issue. “First, the home minister said on the floor of the House that there is no scam. Then an investigation was ordered. He should also be held accountable,” he added.
