Who’s Mutalik? Is he running govt, asks Vishwanath

Mysuru: Training his guns on Sri Ram Sene Chief Pramod Mutalik who has been involved in campaigns against the minorities, former minister and BJP MLC A.H.Vishwanath sought to know if Mutalik had the experience of even working as a panchayat member? He also wondered why the state government is not taking action against such a person.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, Vishwanath stressed that the government must protect the interests of people and give them a life. “ Is this the Pramod Mutalik government, RSS government or VHP government? What message will the government send out in this democratic setup? What’s preventing Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai from taking action against such persons”, he wondered.

On the gross irregularities in the PSI recruitment scam, Vishwanath said the sanctity of exams has been destroyed. A lady advocate was appointed to KPSC and she was said to be close to B.Y. Vijayendra, son of former CM B.S. Yediyurappa, he claimed adding that because of such appointments, senior officials are not getting appointed to the state selection board. The government has spoiled the sanctity of KPSC too. People of integrity are appointed to the UPSC and why cannot the government can have such people in the KPSC also, he wondered.

Vishwanath also seems to have gone soft on his bete noire Siddaramaiah inviting him to contest from Hunsur Assembly constituency. “If we can ensure the victory of H.P. Manjunath can’t we assure a win for Siddaramaiah? The culture of electing the CM unopposed must begin. Siddaramaiah completed five years as CM and such a leader is needed in Vidhana Soudha to share his experience with others,” he added.
