Bengaluru: This was one ox which got a bit too close for comfort for the CM and his security officers.

On Tuesday, Basavaraj Bommai had a close shave when an ox tried to gore him with its horns at Bantanur village in Talikote taluk of Vijayapura district.

According to information reaching here, the CM who is on a visit to the district, was presented with a pair of oxen by a farmer.

As a gesture of gratitude, Bommai put a tilak on the forehead of one of them. There was a lot of commotion at the venue with hundreds of people jostling for space which probably unnerved the second ox which tried to attack Bommai with its sharp horns.

The additional superintendent of police who was standing next to the CM, caught hold of the horns in time and pushed the bovine aside. In the meantime, the CM’s security guards stood around him and then took him to a safe distance. Bommai did look shocked but recovered in time to continue with his itinerary.
