Bengaluru: Passengers on board the Thai Airways flight had a miraculous escape after the plane’s tyre burst while landing at the Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) at 11.30 Tuesday. The flight from Bangkok had 150 passengers on board. Reacting to the incident, a BIAL senior official said: “The pilot was not aware of the flat tyre. Our crew at the runway spotted the damage and alerted the flight crew. Luckily, nothing happened during landing.”

The Thailand national carrier with 256 seats from Bangkok landed at Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL). The flat tyre was noticed while docking into stand 05. After alerting the pilot, the flight was immediately towed to a secure location.

The incident led to a delay of the return flight to Bangkok, which was scheduled to take off in the early hours of Wednesday.

“Thai airways crew arrived on Wednesday evening to fix the damage” BIAL official said.
