Cong to bring out constituency-wise election manifesto for 2023 Assembly polls
By NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: Perhaps, for the first time in recent years, the Congress Party is planning to bring out an election manifesto for each Assembly constituency listing out the priorities for the particular constituency if it comes to power in 2023. This is contrary to the usual practice of the party coming out with one election manifesto for the entire state and highlighting what it will do after coming to power.
The party began preparations for next year’s crucial Assembly polls by holding a meeting of newly-elected office-bearers at the KPCC office. Congress General Secretary in charge of Karnataka Affairs Randeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah gave a pep talk to the newly elected members. Without mincing words, they were told to work at the panchayat level and highlight the failures of the state government and problems for the common man due to the wrong policies of the Union government. Leaders must visit each house in their respective areas and meet people to make them aware of the ‘anti-citizen’ policies adopted by the union and state governments, they said.
Shivakumar said the party has chalked out a programme to highlight the anti-people policies of the state government. Booth presidents must boost the morale of party workers in their respective jurisdiction.
