Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man died after his throat was slit by unidentified assailants in the city on Thursday.

According to a complaint, the incident took place during midnight when an unidentified person forcefully entered the victim’s house and assaulted his family. Police have launched a probe and are now scanning all CCTV footage around the area. The victim, Shankar Reddy, was working as an accountant for a private firm in the city. He is survived by his wife and two children, police said.

In a statement, the victim’s wife claimed that the assailant initially attacked her and she fell unconscious. “When I regained consciousness, I found my husband dead with his throat slit,” she said.

The police rushed to the spot and inspected it. A case has been taken up regarding the incident by the jurisdictional police.
