Bengaluru: Minister MTB Nagaraj, who was one of the Congress MLAs who had joined the BJP along with 15 others to help form a saffron party government in 2019, said he regretted changing parties.

He told a meeting in Bagepalli in Kolar that the biggest blunder committed by him was joining the BJP by quitting the Congress in 2019. “I never joined politics to make money... but only to serve people. God has given me everything and I did not intend to make money.” Nagaraj who is the Municipal Administration and SSI Minister, had resigned from the Congress and joined the ‘Bombay team’ to dislodge the CongressJD(S) government headed by H.D. Kumaraswamy. Subsequently he contested on a BJP ticket from Hosakote but lost to Sharath Bachegowda, an independent candidate.
