Bengaluru: A person was killed in 10th Cross in Chandra Layout on Sunday for objecting to his wife’s alleged affair with her college friend.
The victim has been identified as Zoheb Abrar, 33, a metal fabricator and a resident of BCC Layout.
The Chandra Layout Police have arrested nine persons in connection with the murder.
Police said Nadeem Ahmed, 23, a resident of 6th Cross Gangondanahalli, is the main accused. Other accused are: Mohammed Shafi, Shabbir Hussain, Hannan Pasha, Thabrez Pasha, Tanveer Pasha, Mohammed Mubarak and two juveniles from Gangondanahalli area.
Murder motive
Abrar was married and had two children. His mother too lived with the couple. Recently, Abrar had come to know that the accused became closer to his wife. The issue affected their relationship and the couple often had bitter arguments over it. Abrar’s mother moved out of the house when she could not live with them peacefully.
Later, Abrar had confronted the accused and warned him to stay away from his wife. This infuriated the accused and he plotted to eliminate Abrar, police said. “On April 30, Abrar went to fetch milk and was abducted by the accused and his accomplices. One of Abrar’s friends witnessed the abduction and he informed his mother about it. A case was filed and based on the statements, investigation was carried out thoroughly,” police said.
The police arrested the accused on Tuesday. Police said that during the interrogation, the accused spilled the beans but claimed that they had no intention to kill Abrar.
Police recovered Abrar’s bike from the spot along with a goods carrier and a car which was used by the accused in the crime. Police are now probing to ascertain his wife’s role in the case.
Chandra Layout Police Inspector Manoj Huvale told News Trail that the accused are being questioned for more information. “We suspect the involvement of many more people. A thorough investigation is on,” he said.
