Bengaluru: The BJP is gaining popularity in Mandya district with the entry of youth leaders, claimed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to reporters after meeting former CM and veteran politician, SM Krishna on his 90th birthday celebrations here on Friday, Bommai said leaders from across the state are joining the BJP. More importantly, leaders from Kolar and Mandya are entering the party in batches.
Of late people of all ages, particularly youth are showing interest in joining the BJP. With this, a young leadership is all set to emerge in the Sugarcane Bowl of the state, he said. “ Not only the son of former minister, ST Jayram, all those who have faith in the principles and ideology of the BJP are welcome to join the party,” he said.
Replying to a question on whether he was in Mandya to invite Krishna for the proposed Mandya convention, the CM said so far, no date has been fixed for the event and this would be done in consultation with the high command. Krishna is a veteran politician and his guidance is always required to give good governance, he added.
