Yatnal out of reach of party disciplinary panel members

Bengaluru: After dropping the “Cash for CM post” bomb, Vijayapura City MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has gone missing.

With pressure mounting on the State BJP disciplinary committee to take action on Yatnal for his statement that an agent had demanded Rs 2,500 crore to make him the CM, committee members were reportedly trying to contact the MLA to know the reason for his outburst that has become an instrument for the opposition Congress party to attack the ruling party. The panel had planned to issue him gag orders and also serve a show-cause notice on him for his statement.

According to sources, party national leaders have reportedly asked why Yatnal was repeatedly putting the party in shame by speaking against his own senior leaders including former CM BS Yediyurappa and his sons, as also Minister Murgesh Nirani. The state leaders have explained why the state unit was following a slow approach in initiating action against him. BJP National President JP Nadda and National General Secretary and incharge of Karnataka Arun Singh asked state BJP President Nalinkumar Kateel to ask Yatnal to talk to them and tell why he was speaking against the party leaders in public.

Yatnal makes U-turn, says cash for CM post prevails in Congress
A day after dropping the Rs 2,500 crore “Cash for CM post” jibe, Vijayapura City MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal made a U-turn saying that the culture existed in the Congress party and not in BJP.

He told reporters in Vijayapura on Saturday that “the culture of taking money to make the CM is in Congress and not in BJP. My party gives posts on merit. Except one or two incidents, almost all eligible people are given deserving posts. Even Basavaraja Bommai became the CM on the decision of the party top leaders”

He said KPCC President DK Shivakumar was afraid of him because of which he has filed a Rs 200-crore defamation suit against him. Since then Shivakumar has been scared as he fears major changes in the State. He was worried what if Yatnal comes to power, and for this reason the Congress leader was trying to avoid the minister.
