Two die in accident at Kunigal

Bengaluru: Two people died and another was critically injured when a car rammed into a Tempo Traveller (TT) vehicle near the Begur Bypass of Kunigal taluk in Tumakuru district.

According to sources, the incident took place around 3.30 am on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Raghu, 27, and Santhosh, 21, both residents of Sanjay Nagar in Bengaluru. Another person who was hospitalized is said to be in a critical condition.

It was revealed that the speeding car jumped over the divider before crashing into an incoming TT. The car was totally damaged due to the impact.

The jurisdictional traffic police said that the car was on its way to Bengaluru from Chikkamagaluru whereas the TT was going towards Dharmasthala. It is suspected that the car driver’s fatigue might have caused the incident. The Begur Bypass is an accident prone road.
