KSCA awards top performers, teams for last three seasons

Bengaluru: Karnataka State Cricket Association held its annual awards presentation event after a gap of three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday.

Indian team coach and for mer skipper Rahul Dravid’s son, Samit Dravid, was one of the recipients. Samit’s is a ‘Like father, like son’ kind of story. While playing for Mallya Aditi International School, he emerged as the highest run-getter in the Under-14 Inter School Tournament at the II Division for the BT Ramaiah Shied during the 2019-2020 season.

Top perfor mers and teams from across the State were honoured during the function.

Top-order batter Devdutt Padikkal won a number of awards for his scintillating performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali, Vijay Hazare and Ranji Trophy tournaments.

Among women, Shubha Satheesh and Chandu V were declared the Best Batter and Bowler respectively for the season.

Most seniors, including Manish Pandey and R Samarth, were not present at the event as all of them are part of the ongoing IPL, which made the KSCA president Roger Binny “proud.”

He said that it was a matter of pride for Karnataka that 15 players are representing various IPL teams. “That is the most from any state cricket association of the country,” added Binny.
