Will the new app fix streets? Citizens not convinced

By NT Correspondent

Bengaluru: Come Monday, you can report the potholes in the city through the ‘Fix My Street’ app.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) apparently has come up with the idea with the local residents raising complaints about potholes. Until recently, the app was restricted to the officials.

But the citizens appear to be non-convinced because of BBMP’s previous failed app missions.

Raj Shekar, President, Bengaluru Praja Vedika, said BBMP does not have any accountability as it will dump the project halfway through.

“There were many instances in the past. But BBMP failed in its execution,” he said.

Nayeem Sharif, a student pursuing post graduation said, “This is a good initiative. Hope the app yields results and we see better roads in the city.”

BBMP Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath said on Monday the civic body to fill around 180 km of main roads with Python, an automated pothole filling machine.
