Bengaluru: The BJP high command has sought two or three days’ time to take a call on the cabinet rejig in Karnataka in view of swift developments in connection with a slew of elections, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

“I had a detailed discussion with Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the Cabinet reshuffle. Shah wants two to three days’ time. He will let us know the decision after having talks with BJP National President J.P. Nadda. Anything may happen anytime”, Bommai told reporters in Delhi on Wednesday.

The CM said he briefed Shah about the current political situation in Karnataka, impact of the Supreme Court order on holding the elections to local bodies including BBMP, decision of the Election Commission and the biennial election to elect seven candidates from the Legislative Assembly constituency to the Council. Delhi leaders have promised to study the impact of the elections on political developments and then convey their decision.

So far, there has been no discussion on who would join the Cabinet. There was a discussion only on Cabinet rejig and the prevailing political scenario in the State. Nadda and Shah will take a final call in the much-awaited reshuffle, he added.

On the SC order on holding local bodies election, Bommai said the Election Commission has promised to hold talks with state legal experts on the order.
