Actress death: Notice served to clinic
By NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: Following the death of the 21-year-old Kannada actress, Chethana Raj, the District Health Officer of Bengaluru Urban has served notice to Dr Shetty’s Cosmetic Centre in Rajajinagar.
In the notice, District Health Officer Dr Srinivas Gulur asked the clinic authorities to submit a written explanation of this incident failing which necessary action will be taken against them. It is said that the Cosmetic Centre had a licence only to run a polyclinic and dispensary, not for the procedure they did.
Chethana Raj allegedly died due to breathing difficulties after undergoing the fat removal surgery on May 16. The police have registered a case regarding the incident following a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Varadaraju, who has accused the doctors of negligence. The victim’s father also demanded legal action against Dr Sahebgowda Shetty, who owns the clinic.
