Now, get mangoes delivered by post

Bengaluru: The Department of Posts on Friday officially launched a home mango delivery service in Bengaluru.

All you have to do is to visit karsirimangoes.karnataka.gov.in and place the orders. The postal department has tied up with the Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation Limited (KSMDMCL) for home delivery. However, one has to order a minimum of three kilograms of mangoes to avail the service. “The mangoes would be packed by the farmers in boxes of three kgs each. It would be delivered at the customer’s doorsteps on the same day or the next day.

At present, this service is available in Bengaluru city,” a Department of Posts statement said.

The scheme will benefit mango growers as they can sell their produce without the interference from middlemen and commission agents.

Assistant Postmaster General (mails) V Tara said India Post has been offering the mango delivery service since 2019.
