‘BJP-led govt takes kickbacks for contracts’

Bengaluru: Th e Aam Admi Party (AAP) accused the Karnataka government of bad roads and a lack of flood management strategy in several parts of Bengaluru. On Friday, AAP state convenor Prithvi Reddy expressed confidence that if conducted, the party would not only win but ‘sweep’ the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections.
“BBMP elections were supposed to have happened in 2020 but were postponed for several reasons. The ruling party BJP is now apprehensive of losing the elections and hence using deceitful measures to postpone the elections. Without elections, Bengaluru does not have a corporator and the administration has worsened. The roads are in miserable condition and this is because of the 40 per cent kickbacks that the BJP-led government takes on contracts. The buildings get flooded because of rains and we have no one to take up the responsibility for this,” Reddy said.
“Supreme Court has ordered to conduct BBMP elections within eight weeks after a reshuffling of wards. Aam Admi party is overjoyed by this order of the Supreme Court and strongly believes that the party will win with an unprecedented majority,” he said.
“We believe the elections will happen soon because of Supreme Court’s order. AAP is ready to fight the elections. AAP is determined to win the BBMP elections with the majority. We have party leaders, workers and supporters in every ward. Most importantly, people of the city are keenly observing the party’s principles and how the Government is managing administration in Delhi. We have increasing number of supporters in Bengaluru. People of the city are frustrated with the previous administrations of BJP, Congress and JD(S). We have support for AAP,” Reddy added.
“People of Bengaluru are paying Income Tax, GST (Goods and Services Tax), Property Tax and several other taxes. “In return, they are not even getting basic infrastructure. The taxes that they are paying are being pocketed by the members of the BJP. Only the AAP party can ensure that the tax money paid by the people is returned to them” the AAP leader said.
