Heavy showers pattered the city’s streets late Monday evening, after a break of about 12 days, with strong winds uprooting at least three trees in the process.
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahnagara Palike (BBMP) officials said that rain was not uniformly distributed throughout the city limits, but parts of the city did see some rain damage. “There was a complaint about a tree falling in Hosakerehalli. Other than that there wasn’t much damage,” a BBMP official said.
Another BBMP official said that gales had uprooted trees even before rains hit parts of the city. “In Malleswaram, there was somewhat light rain. However, there were two uprooted trees. One tree fell in ward 121 near Magadi Road first cross at around 5 pm. Another one fell at around 8:30 pm in Kamakshipalya near Navratna bar. This was before the rain as well,” he said.
