In a sudden development, Congress Spokesperson and Supreme Court advocate, Brijesh Kalappa has tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the party and is likely to join Aam Admi Party(AAP).
His resignation came just days after another senior leader, Kapil Sibal quit the Congress to enter the Rajya Sabha with the support of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Though Brijesh has not cited any reason to quit the party with which he was associated for over two decades, it is said that he was unhappy over not being sent to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka in place of Jairam Ramesh who was chosen for the seat.  He has not spelt out his future course of action.
The resignation of Brijesh comes as a big shock for the Congress Party since he was often seen in political debates on TV.
