A tussle broke out between the Chairman and Managing Director of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (KSHDCL) in Bengaluru, after both the officials made serious allegations against each other.
The Managing Director of KSHDCL and a senior IPS officer of IGP rank, Roopa D Moudgil, has accused the chairman Beloor Raghavendra Shetty of destroying CCTV footage, ill-treating a woman staffer and taking away valuable items including sandalwood from the showrooms without making payment.
Further the IPS officer also alleged that though there is a rule that the chairman should not interfere in the day-to-day work of KSHDCL, Shetty asks the staff to bring files related to projects.
On the other hand, Shetty, who is a political appointment by the BJP government, made several allegations against Moudgil accusing her of being irregular at work, misusing office vehicles, and offering discounts on KSHDCL products to her friends.
He alleged that Moudgil allegedly appointed a cashier as general manager and sanctioned several bills without bringing them to the notice of the board.
In her complaint, Moudgil said that Shetty brought back a sacked general manager from the finance department, who had allegedly misappropriated Rs 25 crore. Both the officials have petitioned the chief secretary, seeking action on their complaints.
