Robbery bid: Three nabbed
Bengaluru: Bengaluru police, in a swift action, arrested the accused who had attempted to rob the finance company near Rajagopala Nagar in the city.
The accused were identified as Nagaraj, a native of Ramanagar; Babu Raja Singh, from Nepal; and Kumar, a native of Tumakuru district, police said on Thursday.
The accused had allegedly attempted to rob the Manappuram finance company by breaking open the shutter lock using a gas cutter, police said.
But they panicked once the burglar alarm went off and fled the scene. It was revealed that Nagaraj was a private bus driver, while Kumar used to drive an auto-rickshaw.
As the duo was debt-ridden, they had planned to rob the finance company. They roped in Babu Singh, who was working in a chicken shop.
The police have seized an oxygen cylinder, a LPG gas cylinder, an iron rod and other equipment used in the crime.
A complaint was filed by the manager of Manappuram finance company regarding a theft attempt on the night of May 25.
