PSI scam: Three held in city
Bengaluru: The CID personnel investigating the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) recruitment scam, arrested three accused from Bengaluru. The officers on Sunday had filed three FIRs against the candidates who allegedly cleared the exam through the OMR scam.
The accused were identified as Darshan Gowda, Harish HB and Mohan Kumar, from Yelahanka, Koramangala and Rammurthy Nagar police station limits.
Darshan Gowda, who has achieved 9th rank in the examination, was reported to have said the name of Minister Ashwath Narayan’s brother Satish in a previous hearing. Based on a complaint, the three have been arrested, sources from police said.
The CID has been probing the role of the recruitment cell for nearly a month and have already made several arrests by following the leads procured from the investigations.
It is said that the accused along with others, had attended the written exam held in Kasturinagar in October 2021. They filled only key answers in the OMR sheet and left the other answers blank. The CID officials collected a copy of the OMR and sent it to FSL along with the original OMR sheet for verification. The result confirmed that the answers in the OMR sheet were filled at a different time using a different pen.
