53 kg ganja seized, 5 arrested

The city police have seized 53.05 kg ganja and arrested five persons allegedly involved in its procurement and supply in the city. They were arrested during an anti-drug drive in the city.
The first person was nabbed after police got a tip-off that ganja is being sold near Yeshwanthpur police station limits. The police seized 1.590 kg of ganja from the person.

Following the information provided by him, the police nabbed another accused, who hails from Tirupati and seized 7.050kg ganja.

“We seized 40.700 kg of ganja after raiding their hideouts,” the police said.
Later, the police nabbed the third and fourth accused, who used to procure ganja from Andhra Pradesh and supply to the other accused in the city.
