Police arrest foreigner, seize 6.5 kg ganja

Continuing their drive against drug peddlers, the Bengaluru police have arrested a foreign national and seized 1.45 kg of MDMA and 6.5 kilograms of ganja from him. The accused was identified as John Abraham, an African national.

The police have also seized Rs 28,000 in cash and a bike along with the drugs. According to the police, the offender was caught selling the drugs to students near Palanahalli lake in Yelahanka police station limits.In a similar incident, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) nabbed another person from Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits for selling drugs.

The CCB sleuths seized 5.3 kg of ganja worth Rs 3 lakh from him. The police have revealed that the accused was procuring ganja from someone in Hosakote. The accused has been getting cheap ganja from Hosakote and selling the drugs in the city at a higher price.

A case has been registered in the Rammurthy Nagar police station against the accused under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
