Former CM and JD(S) Leader H D. Kumaraswamy has said that if Kolar JD(S) MLA Srinivasagowda who voted for the Congress party, has any self-respect left, he must resign for backstabbing the party which helped him enter Vidhana Soudha.
Talking to reporters here after the voting in the Rajya Sabha polls here on Friday, Kumaraswamy remarked: ‘’I had told you (media) in the morning that Srinivasa Gowda will vote for the Congress Party. His adjustment with the Congress while continuing to be a JD(S) MLA, is an insult to the people of Kolar. He does not have any morals as he wanted to vote for the Congress and also retain his MLA post.’’
Kumaraswamy admitted that a whip was issued to all JD(S) MLAs but said it was of no use. Training his guns on Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, the JD(S) leader accused the former CM and the Congress Party of indulging in cheap politics.
‘’These people talk about saving democracy. Do they have any respect for the Constitution? The BJP has been engaged in this kind of politics across the country and the Congress is treading the same path. The Kolar MLA was made to vote for the Congress only to ensure the victory of the BJP’s third candidate,’’ he claimed.
