
Two held for threatening petrol pump staff

Bytarayanapura police on Sunday nabbed two people, who had threatened the staff of a petrol pump with lethal weapons, and fled without paying the fuel bill. The accused have been identified as Uday and Kiran.
As per the complaint, the incident took place on June 2 around 9:30 pm, when three men approached the petrol bunk on a bike and asked the attendant to top up the tank. But when the attendant demanded payment, they started abusing him. Later when the cashier and other employees tried to intervene, the accused threatened them with machetes and fled.
A complaint was filed at the jurisdictional police station. The police scanned the CCTV footage of the area and nabbed the accused from Giri Nagar police station limits. The police also found that the accused had robbed a person of his money and valuables on the same night.
The third accused is absconding and a manhunt has been launched, a police officer told News Trail.

Chain snatching: Two arrested
Hebbal police arrested two people for their alleged involvement in chain snatching incidents. The accused have been identified as Asif and Ateeq, and stolen valuables, including 20 grams of gold ornaments, were recovered from the accused, police said.
The police said the modus operandi of the accused had been to target lonely pedestrians, especially women, and rob them of their chains and valuables before fleeing from the spot. The two accused were habitual offenders and several cases at Banaswadi, DJ Halli, KG Halli and Hebbal police stations were solved after their arrest, police added.
