Heavy rains return after a lull

Bengaluru: Heavy showers battered parts of the city late in the evening on Tuesday, breaking the dry spell of the recent past.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials said that while the rain had been heavy in some parts of the city, they hadn’t recorded any complaints related to the downpour. They added that they weren’t aware of water entering people’s houses.

However, underpasses in the city had been waterlogged, including the one in Binnypet. Last week, India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientists said that light to moderate rainfall was likely in several districts on June 14 and 15, which, in hindsight, was a fairly accurate forecast
