
BMTC clears salary dues of employees

Bengaluru: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) employees, who have been going through a rough patch due to unpaid salaries, finally got some relief as their dues were cleared till October.
BMTC officials said, “The 50 per cent salaries of the employees which were due for the month of September and October 2021, were paid off with the aid from the state government.”
As per the agency, 28,273 employees were paid their dues for the month of September, with the total payout amounting to Rs 29.91 crore. For the month of October 28,028 employees were paid their dues, which amounted to Rs 30.16 crore. “There is no pending salary payment to its employees up to October 2021,” BMTC added.
The BMTC had earlier claimed that it is running under a loss and had unpaid dues for its employees. There was simmering unrest among the BMTC employees over the non-payment of dues.
