Truck knocks down bike rider fatally

In yet another tragic accident, a Keralabased businessman lost his life after being knocked off his two-wheeler by a speeding truck near the Peenya traffic police station limits in Bengaluru.

The deceased was identified as Shibu, 49, a resident of Jalahalli in the city. It was revealed that Shibu was a native of Kerala state.

According to the police, the incident took place when Shibu was driving along with his friend near the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) 14th cross, at around 9:30 pm on Monday. A speeding truck allegedly mowed down their vehicle. Shibu sustained severe injuries and died while he was being rushed to the hospital for treatment, police said. His friend, however, escaped with minor injuries.

After being informed about the incident, the jurisdictional traffic police arrived at the spot and inspected it. The body was sent to Sapthagiri hospital in the city. A case was registered at Peenya traffic police station and further investigations are underway.
