IED expert among two militants killed in J&K gunfight

Srinagar: A top Jaish-e-Mohammad(JEM) commander, also an IED expert was among two militants killed in a gun battle in South Kashmir on Wednesday.
According to the security officials, an encounter broke out between the security forces and militants in Pulwama district on an intervening night on Tuesday and Wednesday in which two militants were killed.
“Terrorist commander of proscribed terror outfit JeM Yasir Parray, an IED expert and foreign terrorist Furqan neutralized. Both were involved in several terror crime cases. A big success, “IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar was quoted by Kashmir Police.
A defense spokesman in Srinagar said in a statement that following the inputs about the presence of “terrorists” in the vicinity of Qasbayar village in Pulwama District, the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police launched a joint cordon and search operation on intervening night of Nov 30 and Dec 1.
“The suspected house in the village was surrounded and cordoned off after midnight on 01 Dec.
Call for surrender was given, however, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire upon the security forces. Intermittent exchange of fire kept taking place and at around 8:15 am, the two trapped terrorists were neutralised,” said a statement issued by the army.
The slain militants were identified, as Yassir Ahmad Parrey and Furkan alias Ali Bhai who is a Pakistani national, according to the army.
Army said that Ali was a “A+” Pakistani militant who was known to be active with JeM since 26 Jun 2020. The second slain militant, Yassir Parray, a resident of Qasbayar, Pulwama, was a category “B” militant, who had joined JeM in 2019.
