Enjoy an evening of music and poetry

Bengaluru:

The Tapi Project will be bringing their tunes to the Bangalore International Center today. Their music echoes contemporary India and its new gods and demons: urban life, money, lost roots, alienation, and the challenges faced by the common man in a modern world.

Led by Swati Minaxi whose powerful and sensuous voice brings to life lyrics that swallow you in an ocean of emotions, singing stories about rivers, cramped-up life, lost values, and in essence, the universal search for the self. “An expression is the purest form of, not being constrained or coloured by thought. It is the moment when we become the medium. This is the central idea of our music and poetry," Minaxi said.

She is joined on stage by Yogendra Saniyawala on acoustic guitar, Biju Nambiar on keyboards and bass guitar, and Sreenath Sreenivasan on drums. TAPI’s live performance is said to be woven like a piece of fabric, organically grown on Yogi’s poetries. The group’s sound is a mix of funk and folk on a hypnotic contemporary tribal groove. This is something you’ve got to experience for yourself.
