Mixed response to new set of rules at Hebbal flyover

Bengaluru:
The new advisory has been taken up by the authorities in the city to decongest the Hebbal flyover by creating necessary diversions, which were implemented on Friday. As per the directions, the vehicles coming from Yelahanka, Jakkur, Kodigehalli, Kempapura and other areas were restricted and diverted to the loop ramp to merge with the traffic heading onto the flyover. While there was no congestion, motorists observed slow-moving traffic around the area.
"I would like to appreciate the cops manning the traffic at Hebbal flyover. Usually, it takes 20-30 minutes to cross the flyover. Today, I crossed it in 10 minutes," a motorist said.
Other motorists stressed that the diversions might not help sort out the traffic issues due to the narrow road and a traffic signal under the flyover.
The new rules started at 6 am as set by the DCP, Traffic, North East Division, Savitha. Traffic officials have installed signboards to help the public recognise and follow the new advisory. Instructions were provided to the motorists regarding the new routes and diversions to be taken
