The first anniversary of the BJP government led by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will be held at Doddaballapur near Bengaluru on July 28. The event is being billed as the launch of the campaign for the 2023 Assembly elections for which the ruling party has set a target of 150 seats of the total 224 in the Karnataka Assembly.
The BJP government led by Bommai will be completing one year in office on July 28 and in this connection, the party wants to celebrate the milestone on a grand-scale by highlighting the achievements of the state government since 2019 under the stewardship of B.S.Yediyurappa and later under incumbent CM, Basavaraj Bommai.
Delhi leaders like Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J.P.Nadda, BJP National General Secretary & Incharge of Karnataka Affairs Arun Singh are expected to take part in this function. The BJP high command wants to recreate the 'Uttar Pradesh magic' where Yogi Adityanath rode to power with an overwhelming majority, by retaining power in Karnataka too.
For this purpose, it is doing everything including putting pressure on Bommai to hasten the implementation of all schemes announced in the 2022-23 State Budget. Several rounds of meetings have been held by the CM with heads of various departments to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the needy before the Assembly elections.
While the BJP is organising the first anniversary celebration of the Bommai Government on July 28, Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Siddaramaiah is having his 75th birthday bash in Davangere on August 3 which is organised by his fans and well-wishers and is considered a launchpad for the Assembly polls.
The BJP high command is hoping that Bommai will deliver the goods before December so that the party will have three to four months to work out strategies to face the elections.
