The city police investigating the drugs case involving actor Siddhanth Kapoor has decided to issue summons to him to appear for further inquiry, police sources said on Wednesday. Siddhanth, who is Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor’s son, will be asked to appear before the police in a week.

The notice will be sent on WhatsApp as well as through a register post, police said. Police explained that he will be interrogated on his earlier statement that his drink was spiked and he didn’t know anything about it.

Siddhanth Kapoor was arrested by city police in connection with consumption of drugs in Bengaluru in June. He was arrested while partying at a fivestar hotel in Halasuru police station limits. The police had conducted a raid and taken 35 people into custody.

The cops had seized 7 grams of MDMA crystals and 10 grams of Ganja during the raid. Medical tests had confirmed consumption of drugs by Siddhanth Kapoor and the police later released him on station bail after the arrest. During an inquiry, he had said that someone had given him water and cigarettes laced with drugs.
