Tuesday’s thunderstorm brought down several trees across the city. That most of the damage occurred in the middle of the night resulted in no loss of life. A massive tree fell on a parked autorickshaw in Chamarajpet, causing severe damage to the vehicle. The tree came crashing down in the wee hours of Wednesday, according to locals. No casualties were reported as there was no one at the spot adjacent to the popular Eidgah Maidan. Another huge tree near National College Ground got uprooted in the heavy downpour. The tree fell on the steel grill of the nearby basketball court, again causing damage to any life. Stone slabs fixed around the tree got extricated under the impact.
