Building collapses at Avenue Road

A three-storey building near Basava temple on the Avenue Road collapsed amid the heavy rains in the city.

The police said that the incident took place around 3:30 am on Saturday. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

However, the cops added that there were gifts and stationery items in the shop which were damaged in the process. The fire and rescue personnel rushed to the spot in the morning. According to the police, the building was already in dilapidated state and the incessant rains further weakened it’s beams which made it collapse.
