83-year-old woman found murdered

 An 83-year-old woman, who had earlier called up police to inform that she was facing death threats, was found murdered at her home in HSR Layout first stage in Bengaluru.

The victim has been identified as Jayashree. Police officials said she had made many calls to the police station seeking protection, and the jurisdictional police had arranged for a police patrol near her house.

Jayashree’s husband Srinivas, a naval officer, died earlier and she was staying alone. She has two sons, one settled abroad and another residing separately in Lingarajapuram. She owned a four-floor building and three houses were given for rent.

 Police investigations show that she was murdered late on Friday night. The killers have absconded with her jewels. The police said that her security guard is also missing, and police suspect his role in her murder.

The body was found by a tenant who informed the police, who have launched an investigation
