New-born found in Kundapur, cops search for mom

Mangaluru: A new-born female baby found in a bush near Machattu bridge at Amasebailu in Kundapur Taluk with police launching a search operation to trace its mother.

Geetha, a resident of Madivalakattu village rescued the child from the bush after she head an infant weeping on Wednesday. She informed Amasebailu police station immediately and handed over the child to sub inspector Subbanna.

As the child had high fever, Subbanna took measures to provide her first aid and to feed her. Later, the baby was sent to the government hospital in Kundapur and is now out of danger, police sources informed.

Dr Robert Rebello, surgeon of Kundapur government hospital informed that all precautionary measures had been taken to provide proper treatment. ‘’Once the child’s health improves, legal action will be taken,” he informed.
