A resident of sondekappa in Nelamangala had a shock of his life while he was about to start his scooter on Tuesday - he found something slithering inside the front shield of the scooter. As he peeped into the handle cover, he heard a hissing noise and feared that a snake had crept into his scooter.
Soon a crowd gathered around the scooter. The resident, gathering his wits, called up one of the popular snake catchers in the city, Arun Kumar, from Byatarayanapura. Kumar reached the spot immediately and rescued the reptile.
“With heavy rains until last week, the snake might have been desperately seek[1]ing refuge and decided to sneak into the scooter for safety,” Kumar told News Trail. When dealing with snakes, Arun Kumar urged people not to kill them.
“The best course of action would be to call the BBMP (080-22221188) helpline, so that the snakes can be rescued and released in the wild,” he added.
Of late, there has been an increase in incidents of snakes be spotted in human habitats in the city
