Accident-free drivers feted
Bengaluru: Since 1997, the BMTC has been encouraging accident[1]free drivers by honouring them. Every year the Chief Minister Gold Medal is given to those who have rendered seven years of accident-free services and have clean disciplinary records.
The award winners get the medal along with Rs 5,000 in cash and an award certificate. They are also provided with the incentive of Rs 100 as an allowance each month. The 8-gram gold with the Gandaberunda symbol is embossed on a 40-gram silver medal.
A total of 168 drivers with accident-free and clean disciplinary records from the years 2016 to 2018, were awarded with the gold medal at the Sri Venkatadri Kalyana Mantapa in Katriguppe yesterday.
Officers and officials from BMTC, along with the families of the award winners were present at the occasion.
