Lapses in the investigation done by the police in gambling case have angered the residents of Sahakar Nagar. According to the latest report from the sources, the club which was raided by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials on Tuesday night, belongs to an influential person in Sahakar Nagar, sources said on Thursday.
Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Raman Gupta had said that an FIR has been filed against 13 persons after they were found to be involved in the gambling game, Andar-Bahar. Rs 1 lakh was reportedly seized from them.
Now the sources have revealed that the Sahakar Nagar club is owned by a person named Deverajappa. However no action has been taken.
Some of the residents of the area have blamed the Kodigehalli police inspector for the lapses. It is being said that the inspector has been continuing his duties despite being suspended on two separate occasions. Latest was 2018, where an accused had escaped from the police custody by pointing a gun at a police officer. However after one year, the inspector was posted back to Kodigehalli police station.
The residents said that they will approach Bengaluru Police Commissioner and will seek necessary action
