After two years of Covid gap, the city's premier Odissi dance institution, Nrityantar, will hold its 11th annual Odissi dance festival at ADA Rangamandira, J C Road this Sunday. As part of the festival Nrityantar Dance Ensemble, will present a thematic dance production titled ‘Shoonya to Sufi’. With excerpts from the Upanishads and poetry of Mirza Ghalib, Amir Khusro, Mahapurusha Achyutananda Das, this dance presentation explores the mystical philosophy of Sufism & the journey within, in the course of the seeker’s quest towards the realisation of the self & the union with the divine, similar to the views of Advaita Vedanta and unity & harmony of various faiths.

The festival pays rich tributes to the great gurus of Odissi dance for their invaluable contributions in the growth and popularisation of this extremely elegant classical dance
