Teenage girl intoxicated, gang-raped; 2 friends arrested

In a shameful incident, a teenage girl was allegedly gang raped by her own friends after they lured her to an isolated area in the city's HAL limits.

 The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday but came to light only after the girl's parents approached the Viveknagar police and registered a complaint against the accused.

 Based on the complaint, the police arrested two accused, identified as Deepu and Akhilesh. As per the sources, one of the accused had been working as a driver for a local news channel.

"The two accused had taken the girl to an isolated spot after giving her a drink, which is suspected to be alcohol," police said.

The investigation by the police revealed that the victim was a resident of Ejipura and had known the accused for a couple of years.

 The two accused had allegedly called her to meet up near HAL main road and then took her to the area while offering drinks before sexually assaulting her. The complaint also alleged that the accused had threatened to kill the victim if she disclosed it to anyone.

 The police nabbed the accused and are currently interrogating them. Further investigation into the case will follow.
