Remember Irene Adler from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Sherlock Holmes' series, who lured men in high places and carved for herself, a position of power? No different was the modus operandi of this woman who was arrested by Annapurneshwari Nagar police and was allegedly the mastermind of a high-profile honey-trapping racket with IAS, IPS and IFS officers too reportedly falling into her web.

The woman, Vidya, is said to be affiliated with a national political party. Her victims were VIPs and included a civil contractor from Bengaluru, whose police complaint led to her arrest. At the time of the complaint, she had been demanding Rs 1 crore from him, threatening him with photos she had of them together. Unable to bear her threats, the victim filed a complaint.

After her arrest, police learned that she was on a honey trapping spree, targeting bureaucrats and others in high circles.
