CCB arrests three rowdies for extortion

In a swift action, the Central Crime Branch police arrested three notorious rowdy-sheeters of different police stations in the city. The accused have been identified as Sathya Gowda, Raghavendra and Jayanth. Sathya, a rowdy-sheeter of Kamakshipalya police station and an accused in over 10 cases such as murder and attempt-to-murder, had been evading summons, following which the court had issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him.
Ragahavendra of Puttenahalli is an accused in a murder case and has over eight cases filed against him. The third accused Jayanth has extortion cases filed against him at Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station.
Tracking their movements, the CCB officials found them extorting money from the local residents and nabbed them. However an accomplice, identified as Rajesh, who had been helping the trio absconded from the spot. No cases were detected against him so far, police said.
Further investigation is on to identify and nab the absconding accused for more information.
Body found in Yeshwanthpur
Yeshwanthpur Railway police found an unidentified body of a man on the Pipeline Road near the Railway station on Monday.
According to the police the age of the person is estimated to be around 50 years. However the cops could not ascertain the identity of the person. The body was discovered by a local resident early in the morning, following which he had alerted the police. As per the statements from the nearby residents, the victim was seen along with several rag pickers a day before his death.
Rushing to the spot, the police noticed the bludgeoned body and after inspection sent it to MS Ramaiah Hospital in the city for post-mortem analysis. Based on the statements and investigations so far, the police have suspected that the person might have been killed. However, the exact cause will be revealed after the analysis, police said.
