Bengaluru:
While sightings of potholes in the city are common, the cobblestoned Church Street, built on an expensive budget and foreign design, has seen potholes rise too. The BBMP in a tender worth Rs 18 crore, constructed the 750-meter road in 2018 and opened it for traffic.
Contractors have been invited for the annual maintenance of 12 roads in the city, including Church Street, which has been developed on the Tender Sure model at a total cost of Rs 4.80 crore. However, the mandate has not been provided yet.
The municipal authority claims that the gas cylinder trucks being moved on the road are the cause of the issue. Lokesh, the chief engineer of BBMP planning department, has reportedly said that the repairs will be done soon.
