3 arrested; valuables worth Rs 49 lakh seized

Three people were arrested by the Hennur police along with stolen valuables worth Rs 49.17 lakh in their possession. The accused were identified by the police as Korunga, 21; Ajith, 22, and Muthu Kumar, 27. The police said that the trio was natives of Tamil Nadu state.

However, Korunga had been staying near Bhuvaneshwari Layout in the city. After detecting several house break-in theft cases registered at various police stations in the city, including Ramamurthy Nagar, Kothanur, Yelahanka and Hennur, the police said that the accused were habitual offenders and were involved in stealing valuables from the locked houses.

Probing the cases, the police recovered 1092.8 gram gold ornaments estimated to be worth Rs 49,17,600 from their possession.
