Bengaluru:

Non-IPS officers have alleged that the state is discriminating against them. They say that 110 posts have been given to non-IPS officers in the state, but less than 50 officers have been posted to these vacant seats.

The officers allege that over 60 posts are occupied by IPS officers. They also claim that Kannadigas are being treated “unfairly” by IPS officers of other states. They say that over 200 officers in the state are eligible for promotion. However, they are not being promoted.

Instead, the post is given to a person who in not from Karnataka. “We are used to this kind of thing. If the government introduces new vacancies, these seats are never filled. Even if these seats are filled, people from different states are taken into consideration,” said Sunil Gowda, a police constable.
